A booth to steal the show

IPPE Connections 2023

'A top-notch booth'

At IPPE 2023, Marel was excited to welcome so many visitors from across the Americas and have the opportunity to demonstrate the latest advances in processing solutions. A long time stable for North American processors, Marel Regional Sales Director Ruud Berkers, noted that IPPE was fast becoming the go to show for Latin American food processors.

Visitors took the opportunity to get close to some of our most advanced solutions and to chat with our experts in hardware and software on the booth or in the private meeting rooms. Good food has always helped build good connections, with Marel Chefs Jacques Roosenbrand and Stefan Vidarsson onsite cooking up a delicious range of dishes, visitors had even more incentive to explore the Marel booth as Francis Chartrand, Vice President of Sales Canada said, “it was nice to sit and have a bite with customers. It took the stress off them and saved them some time.”

With comments being heard like "Marel is a top-notch booth,” said by a Vice President from a Canadian poultry processor, the Marel team counts the 2023 show as a great success and wants to thank all our guests for making it one.

Outstanding standout

The Nuova-i intelligent evisceration management system excited poultry processors with its innovation and functionality. Both North American and Latin American guests showed great interest in the possibilities the Nuova-i offered. “Customers are excited to see how it can help with labor issues and making processing easier and more manageable with data transformation,” said Arie Tulp, Sales and Marketing Director.

Marel Regional Sales Director Marco Solleveld agreed, "It's remarkable how much attention the Nuova-i attracted at IPPE. We were able to show the innovative aspects and they were really well received by our customers. They could see a vision of their future thanks to the technological improvements of the Nuova-i.”

Seeing the future in prepared foods

The Marel team had a very busy three days thanks to our expanded portfolio of solutions for prepared foods. "We're basically talking with every client about prepared foods; now the total concept is ready for market. With the RevoPortioner and our coating lines, together with the mixers and meat preparation equipment, we offer the complete solution and visitors could see that. It was great to hear them say they need to work with Marel for this reason," said Ruud Berkers.

More from meat

Labor shortages are still motivating processors to seek more automated solutions. Francis Chartrand said customers from all sides showed a lot of interest in equipment that helped solve this on-going challenge. “They were especially interested in the Robobatcher and the DeboFlex. They liked the integrated modules, the improvements and automation.”

Sliced and diced

IPPE offered Marel the first opportunity to speak with customers about our beef systems' advantages to yield and end-product quality. There was a variety of slicing and dicing equipment on display, but according to Roger Huezo, Vice President of Sales for Meat in North American, "The I-Cut 360 stole the show. The unique innovation of this new-to-market portion cutter created lots of customer interest. With many wanting to purchase one from the show floor."

Fernando Roos, Meat Sales Director for Latin America, agreed, "Marel always brings a very robust and innovative portfolio. Specifically, in IPPE 2023, for Latin customers, the I-Cut 360 portioner stood out for its flexibility. Along with the new Skinner module for the Deboflex, which expands the automation of the pork systems even more."

A digital benchmark

Marel continues to take steps in its digitalization journey. Working with our customers to address concerns and ensure data security is always a top priority when moving forward. At IPPE, Marel presented its 'best in class' approach, appreciating that many of our customers use Marel as a benchmark for digital adaptation in food processing. "Many forward-thinking companies are looking to marry their digital technology strategies and software plans to their organization's business objectives for digital transformation. Software is a critical part of this endeavor," Nick Saharan, Global Software Sales Manager, noticed. This approach resulted in our customers showing excitement about Marel's digital journey and how we better serve their needs in transforming food processing.

The Marel team would like to thank everyone who came to the three days of IPPE 2023. As one owner of a large meat processing facility in Canada said on the way out, “The best part about the Marel booth was the people, everyone was so friendly.” We couldn’t agree more.
