The function

I. Job Title
 
Project Engineer
 
II. Major Responsibilities
 
• Create and support technical drawing packages for sales orders
• Create and support equipment specifications for sales orders
• Work with Sales Engineers to ensure that specified equipment meets the customer‘s needs
• Lead internal sales projects from opportunity phase until order fulfillment
 
III. Specific Activities
 
• Create engineering drawings that support the customer‘s capital investment, including general plant
   layouts, electrical diagrams for equipment connection, structural beam plans and assembly drawings
• Create bills of material for equipment on sales orders
• Cooperate with Project Managment to resolve installation issues
• Maintain engineering documentation
• Work with Sales Engineers to improve the quality of customer solutions
• Utilize the latest AutoCAD tools to increase productivity and minimize errors
• Ensure customer buy-in using the layout and order verification procedure
 
IV. Major Success Measurements
 
• Projects that are released on time, within budget, and successfully meet requirements
• Development of strong working relationships with Sales and Mechanical Engineers, Project Managers
   and Product Specialists
• Maintaining a highly level of quality and accuracy at peak productivity
• Completion of the job functions defined above with limited direct supervision

Requirements

V. Education and Work Experience
 
• Bachelor‘s degree in an Engineering field (Mechanical Engineering highly preferred)
• Experience using AutoCAD to create 2D drawings
• Ability to read, understand and explain technical drawings and bills of material
• Ability to produce and revise documents using the Microsoft Office Suite
• Experience working in a commerical environment including direct customer interaction
