Calibration is the testing and adjustment of equipment or parts of equipment which are critical for quantitative measurements (e.g. weighing). Its scope does not include official certification by metrological service. Specific equipment types or parts of equipment will need routine calibration in order to maintain optimal performance.
Failure to calibrate equipment within Marel and/or applicable compliance requirements could have financial consequences for customers because of the knock-on effect of measurement error and/or loss of compliance. Calibration is commonly needed after a periodic check and after repair work or maintenance.
