This year’s Congreso Nacional Avícola took place in the city of Bucaramanga, with a large participation of local and international companies.
The congress is the major poultry event of Colombia and for the first time, a “Country of Honor” was highlighted, in this case the Netherlands. Specific signage was available on the expo floor to direct visitors to the Dutch companies, among which Marel Poultry. The opening ceremony was attended by the country’s president and the ambassador of the Netherlands.
Our Marel Poultry stand attracted many professional visitors all three days, consisting of new contacts, and a large number of existing customers and relations. They showed a lot of interest in the modular ACM-NT cut-up system, which can perfectly be adjusted to Colombian preferences for cutting products into specifics pieces when it comes to wings, legs and breasts. The AMF-i breast cAMFap filleting solution attracted also a lot of attention, as it can be integrated in any Colombian processing plant, regardless its automation level. This was also true for Marel Poultry’s graders such as SmartLine Grader, TargetBatcher, and CompactGrader.
Innova Food Processing Software raised significant attention too. Colombian poultry processors have reached such levels of automation that they can’t do without appropriate controlling and monitoring software.
All relevant people in the Colombian poultry industry were present in Bucaramanga as they only get this chance to meet each other once every two years. Once again, the Congreso Nacional Avícola proved to be an excellent opportunity for Marel Poultry to tighten the relationships with everybody in the Colombian poultry industry.
