Seafood processors enjoy hands-on Marel event

Our advanced equipment and customized integrated systems for processing salmon and whitefish are being demonstrated at the Seafood ShowHow this week, at our state-of-the-art facility in Seattle.

Seafood ShowHow Seattle

Over 60 Marel customers have attended the showhow over the past two days, and we are expecting over 300 visitors for Friday’s open house event (20 November). With live demonstrations of our equipment, we have been focusing on how we can help processors exceed their production goals.

The MS 2730 Filleting Machine in particular is drawing a lot of attention, with visitors extremely impressed with the trim tools for back and belly trim. Our customers have especially enjoyed the opportunity to bring in their own fish to test on the machine.

Our Active Trim Line for trimming salmon is one of the highlights of the event this year, and we have been demonstrating how trimming is done directly on the belt, with operators cutting away from themselves without turning the fillets. This reduces handling to improve product quality, while also improving worker safety, and reducing work time and motion.

See the Seafood ShowHow event listing for more information about the product demonstrations and other activities.
