Economic responsibility

We generate value for society

Marel promotes fair trade, sustainable business practices and long-term profitability.

Our mission is to generate value for our partners and shareholders while also having a positive economic impact in the societies in which we operate.

By growing and sustaining an economically strong and responsible business over the long term, guided by a clear vision, we make a significant positive impact on our customers and our people, as well as the economy and society.

Having a positive economic impact in the societies in which we operate is a fundamental tenet of our economic responsibility, and we believe all parties must share this principle.

We promote responsible business practices

We comply with international laws, anti-corruption rules and local regulations. We promote responsible practices through transparency, innovation and collaboration with our partners. We strive to ensure long-term profitability, fair trade and sustainability. Marel is a signatory to the United Nations Global Compact, committing to the Ten Principles of the UN Global Compact and the Sustainability Development Goals. We believe that every contribution counts in the quest for a more equitable society.

Economic value has a positive impact

Our economic value includes growth at a local level, such as job creation, and support of local suppliers through the purchase of goods and services. The economic value generated by our operations consists largely of sales.

The taxes paid by Marel generate significant economic value. In addition to direct taxes, we collect various taxes and duties on behalf of governments.

Our Anti Corruptions Policy2

Committed to fair business practices

As an international company, we take compliance with global laws and regulations very seriously.

We have an Anti-Bribery & Anti-Corruption Policy that reinforces our commitment to abide by the anti-bribery and anti-corruption laws of all the countries in which we operate. The policy applies to all employees, officers and directors as well as any contractors, consultants, agents and other business partners engaged in business on behalf of Marel.
