Poultry Africa 2022

Marel at Poultry Africa

With over 120 exhibiting companies from more than 20 countries, the third edition of Poultry Africa is the biggest so far. The enriched conference program covers several sectors within the poultry production chain. Topics as biosecurity, water management, food security and animal health will get extra attention. The event is truly a Sub-Saharan platform, with visitors from Rwanda, Nigeria, Uganda, Kenya, Ghana, Ethiopia but also South-Africa, Sudan, etc. This year, the show is expected to welcome 2,000 visitors, decision-makers, and buyers. Poultry Africa 2022 will reconnect the industry professionals with over 120 suppliers from Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and America.

Steps to automation

Changing from wet market to industrial processing will usually become viable once a sufficient customer base has been built up to justify the processing of some 500 broilers per hour.
Starting with an overhead conveyor, a scalder and a plucker, the first step into industrialization will have been made. Next, when production increases to 1,000 or 2,000 bph, automated evisceration, using the Nuova CoreTech, will be the best option.

Marel can offer invaluable advice to newcomers to industrial poultry processing as well as expanding processors. We can help with the design and finish of the building and its various departments, with suitable equipment and its layout and with the provision of the services that will be necessary to operate the plant.

Made-to-measure

Marel is experienced in the African market and knows all about the daily poultry processing issues that you’re dealing with, whether you’re a starting or an expanding processor. Our innovative solutions can support you in finding the made-to-measure answers to your local market needs.
