DEMONSTRATIONS AT THE 2020 SALMON SHOWHOW

GET A GRIP ON SMARTER PROCESSING

Robobatcher

Come and see what is grabbing all the recent attention. The RoboBatcher Thermoformer is transforming the way salmon processors pack and batch their products. The RoboBatcher rapidly performs fixed-weight or fixed count packing of fresh portions into a thermoformer at a rate of up to 100-130 portions/minute with maximum efficiency and control and easily integrates with other equipment.

Flowequalizer

The FlowEqualizer improves your packing process by synchronizing product flow between applications for robot picking to work at maximum efficiency. When salmon portions reach the FlowEqualizer, they are evenly distributed over the available space for a continuous and stable flow that increases yield, throughput and quality while reducing manual handling.

De-palletizing ROBOT

See our new and improved de-palletizing robot do the heavy lifting and unload boxes from pallets to empty fish into the de-icing area. The robot, introduced at our 2019 ShowHow, now features greater capacity, the ability to feed two lines, and more efficient handling of boxes and pallets.

The de-palletizing robot reduces manual work while ensuring a steady flow of product. Batch control is programmable and delivers an exact amount of fish (by weight) or boxes, giving you full control of raw materials.

AUTOMATIC DEHEADING

The unique cutting principles of our automatic Deheading Machine MS 2720 will be on display. The deheader fully integrates into our latest filleting line solutions—including desliming, trimming, pinbone removal and skinning. See the outstanding results it delivers with high throughput, yield and quality.

HIGHLY AUTOMATED filleting AND TRIMMING

Our highly configurable Filleting Machine MS 2730 is an industry leader, and we will be happy to show you why. Three of our filleting machines will be running at the event. Features include automatic back and belly trimming, and an automatic infeed that improves fillet quality by ensuring the fish enters in the correct position and at a steady pace.

Fixed-pace manual deheading ahead of filleting machine

We’ve just released our rotating table for sale, but it has already become very popular throughout the industry for making manual deheading more efficient. Combined with our PaceInfeeder, you can automatically transfer salmon into the MS2730 Filleting Machine at a steady pace.

Popular at pre-release demonstrations in 2019, the rotating table features ergonomically designed height adjustable platforms and cutting boards for easy, safe and effective operation. After manual deheading, operators slide the salmon onto the rotating conveyor—directly below the table—that delivers it to the PaceInfeeder for a steady flow. The infeed is independent of the operator and maintains the optimal pace for every single fish in the correct position for the Filleting Machine.

quality scannING

Our Quality Scanner is configurable for a variety of applications. Fillets are scanned after trimming or skinning processes for registration of volume, color, melanin spots, blood spots, trimming defects, skinning defects and brown meat. The scanner makes it possible to sort the fillets downstream and improve control over the quality and size of each fillet.

Skinning

There will be two skinning machines at the event, the MAJA Single Lane Skinner and Salmon Skinner MS1710. Both ensure fillets are skinned without any loss in quality. Our skinners optimize the flow of salmon processing lines. They are unique for skinning fillets headfirst, leaving no skin on the tail and achieving a very high yield from each fillet.

PINBONE REMOVAL AND PORTIONING

Our FleXicut Salmon precisely cuts the pinbones from pre-rigor salmon fillets. X-ray vision detects the bones and ensures minimal yield loss by adjusting the waterjet cutting angle to remove bones according to their exact location each time. FleXicut expands your future processing opportunities by using both waterjet cutters and knives to portion the salmon.

Also on display will be our efficient and gentle Pinbone Remover MS2612, available in 1, 2, 3, 4 and 6-lane versions, with a capacity of up to 18 fillets per minute per lane.

HIGH-VALUE PORTIONING

There are many ways to create value-added products using our portion cutters, which offer the latest in innovative cutting patterns and can deliver custom-made portions directly to order.

The 2020 ShowHow will feature the I-Cut 130 PortionCutter for cutting fixed-weight and/or fixed-length portions, along with pick-and-place robots. The highly efficient I-Cut 11 PortionCutter, combined with the SpeedSort to sort products and manage trim rejects, and the I-Cut 610 PortionCutter together with one of our QC Scanners.

EFFICIENT slicing

As a leading global supplier of slicing equipment for fresh salmon, we offer slicers ranging from single standard units to large-scale systems for entire packing lines. We will demonstrate slicers suitable for a variety of production needs, including the I-Slice 3300 retail pack slicer, horizontal slicers, D-cut slicers and multi-angle slicers.

LABELING AND END OF LINE

Our end-of-line demos at the 2020 event will include labelers, floor scales and packing lines. The M360 wide edge, linerless labeler offers speed, ease of use and branding impact. The WPL9060 Weigh Price Labeler is designed for a wide range of applications and can handle all popular pack sizes at up to 60 packs/min.

Data driven Production Control

Designed to improve productivity throughout factories, Marel’s Innova Food Processing Software is an integral part of the processing equipment and solutions featured at the showhow. Step into the Innova office in the demo area, as well as the Innova lab on the first floor at the event, to experience the huge benefits the software has to offer.

With the growing value of data in today’s hi-tech processing environment, connectivity throughout salmon processing facilities is imperative. Our software is designed to connect equipment, operators and raw materials to provide valuable insights about the salmon and the production cycle.
