High-quality visitors at CFIA 2017
Enthusiastic response to ATLAS
The CFIA 2017 exhibition in Rennes, France, took place from March 7th to 9th. Marel Poultry's stand attracted wide attention due to the new Stork ATLAS live bird handling system and the Stork Thigh Fillet System.
CFIA is the largest food processing suppliers event in France and this 2017 edition brought together approximately 1,500 exhibitors and 20,000 food industry visitors.
At the moment, the subject of animal welfare ranks very high in the French market, so the timing to introduce the ATLAS system couldn't be better. Besides that, all visitors admired the industrial effectiveness and the easy mastering of the process.

Visitors grabbed the opportunity
During the CFIA event, our new Stork ATLAS transport module enjoyed abundant attention of existing customers and newly interested visitors who grabbed the opportunity to experience this hands-on demonstration. "It is really seen as a small revolution in the market. All visitors, including the people from the most important poultry processors in France, were extremely interested and unanimously enthusiastic about ATLAS. I didn't hear a single critical remark," says Gael Devaux, responsible for Marel Poultry Sales France. The new Stork Thigh Fillet System also aroused great interest among visitors of the CFIA, because it's the world's first inline high-capacity thigh deboning solution. People from the industry recognized that using this system, it is possible to supply industrially deboned thigh meat with consistent retail quality in large volumes. Having in mind the growing consumption of thigh fillet meat, a trend which is certainly noticeable in France, the market introduction of this Marel Poultry solution is carefully timed.
Also on display on our stand was the I-Cut 130 portion cutter, which was widely acclaimed as well. "This appears to be the ideal portioning machine for the French polyvalent market. French poultry processors like the idea that they can use turkey or chicken meat as infeed material, as they tend to process a wide variety of breeds. The I-Cut 130 is a relatively easy portioning solution that can handle it all."
At our stand, our expert product specialists were constantly busy talking to customers and other interested visitors. Gael Devaux continues, "The number of visitors to the CFIA may remain stable the last years, but we notice that their profile has changed; their quality has increased considerably. At our booth we now really get to talk to the decision-makers of the important processing companies."
