In touch with the Arab poultry industry at VIV MEA

VIV MEA stand crew 2016

Held from February 15 - 17 in Abu Dhabi, the first VIV Middle East & Africa trade fair turned out to fill a market gap. During the three days of the exhibition, the 200 stands in three halls attracted about 7000 ‘high quality’ visitors, which largely exceeded the expectations. As a consequence, the next edition of the VIV MEA is surely going to take place in 2018.

At the VIV MEA trade fair Marel Stork Poultry Processing showed tailor-made solutions to suit the Middle Eastern and African markets, always striving to add the most value to poultry processes, respecting sustainability and local regulations. With our focus on plucking, Nuova evisceration and SmartWeigher Grading and Distribution Line, we managed to share our passion for poultry processing with the VIV MEA guests.

At our Marel Stork booth we could welcome lots of highly interested visitors and customers from various countries like United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Egypt, Sudan and even Nigeria.

Poultry lecture

VIV MEA stand crew 2016

As a part of the official conference program, Marel Stork Area Sales Manager Ernst Kah gave a lecture on poultry processing, hosted by the Dutch Poultry Centre, in cooperation with VIV MEA. Before an audience of about 100 interested professionals he gave a global outlook of the developments within the poultry industry. Following the facts and figures about world population growth and expected meat production, Bachelor of Science Ernst Kah signaled trends towards quick meal preparation and a focus on sustainability. Of course these themes are also high on the agenda of Marel Stork, put into practice by the energy-efficient AeroScalder, the Nuova evisceration range and the Innova overarching processing software.
