Matching solutions for the Middle East market
Saudi Agriculture 2018
Visitors mainly came from Saudi-Arabia and its surrounding Arab countries, such as Egypt, UAE, and Jordan. Quite some delegates from important poultry countries such as UK, USA, and the Netherlands were also present. The Dutch agriculture attaché, accompanied by several members of the Dutch embassy, also made an appearance on Saudi Agriculture. The opening ceremony was officially performed by the Saudi Minister of Agriculture.
Our Marel Poultry stand could welcome even more visitors than expected. We had more than 60 companies and 150 people paying a visit to our stand, covering almost all areas in the industry, from poultry farmers to processors. They showed interest in many fields, such as packaging equipment, further processing solutions, waste water treatment, and hygienic equipment.
Among the people visiting our stand, a slight majority were existing relations, already familiar with our Marel Poultry solutions. The rest of the audience consisted of new customers, of whom some could turn into serious prospects. They were particularly eager to know about the newest technologies in the poultry sector, with a strong preference for solutions that can reduce manual labor.
AMF-i matches market requirements
Our AMF-i intelligent breast cap filleting system turned out to be very appealing to Middle East processors. Driven by local market conditions, processing companies need to produce consistent, high-quality products, even if the input material is noncalibrated. AMF-i's characteristics perfectly match these demands. The intelligent measurement unit knows how to cope with different breast cap sizes. All downstream modules adapt themselves to the measured dimensions, so that the output will be as consistent as can be and manual trimming afterwards is limited to an absolute minimum.
During Saudi Agriculture, Marel Poultry teamed up with our agent AACE, represented by Rayan Al Dawood and Giuseppe Caspanni. Together with Ernst Kah, Marel Poultry export sales manager, they were busy all the time, discussing with the Saudi poultry entrepreneurs all options for their individual situation. This was also true for our Marel Water Treatment expert Eric Nab.
