Value Adding Event at Progress Point
The day began with inspiring presentations about market trends, the future in the packaging industry, and the retailer perspective, before live demonstrations of value-adding equipment and systems took place in the facility’s demo area.
The presentations were held by three experts in the field: Mike de Jong from Innova Market Trends, Jon de Roeck from Sealed Air, and Kim de Smit from DGS (Dutch Grill Specialties).
“The presentations in the morning really opened our minds about what is possible and was fantastic preparation for the afternoon with live demonstrations,” said Catherine Gormley (Faccenda, UK), attending the event. “Showing processing solutions in this way really allowed us to focus.”
The equipment demonstrated included two integrated marinating lines – the first running with pork neck fillets and consisting of an OptiCut, ValueSpray, and a stacker; and the second running with drumsticks and wings and consisting of a ValueDrum, Multihead Weigher and ULMA Scorpio tray sealer.
Three marinade suppliers – SFK, Raps and DP&S – also took part in the event, with small exhibition booths set up at Progress Point to inform visitors about their products and answer any questions.
“It has been great to see how enthusiastic everybody was,” says Saskia van Capelleveen, Marel Marketing Specialist. “We are proud to welcome our customers here at Progress Point!”
