Transportation and cooling

Most meat processing plants are equipped with chill tunnels and cooling rooms to reduce the carcass temperatures very rapidly and thus avoid unnecessary weight loss. Marel’s carcass transport systems are automated and do not require any operator intervention to move carcasses to and from the chill tunnels or cooling rooms. The carcasses hang on rails aligned in the direction of air circulation and also avoid contact with each other.
