JBT Marel Fish is pleased to announce the first sales agreement for its new salmon gutting machine, EVi, to Bakkafrost. Bakkafrost is a well-regarded producer of high-quality salmon, known for its focus on excellence and sustainability in the salmon industry.
This agreement represents JBT Marel’s entry into the salmon gutting segment and follows a successful prototype collaboration, including on-site development and testing at Bakkafrost’s facilities in the Faroe Islands. The EVi demonstrated promising results, leading to this agreement that reflects the value of the technology and the strong working relationship between the two companies.
The EVi is now being integrated into Bakkafrost’s production line for further stress testing and hands-on use. The move from offline prototype to active installation reflects Bakkafrost’s confidence in JBT Marel’s solutions and continues a partnership that began in 2007.
“It’s great to see the first EVi installation going into operation at Bakkafrost. This marks our entry into the salmon gutting segment, where we’re focused on delivering solid performance and cleaning quality through intelligent processing. We’re looking forward to continued collaboration with Bakkafrost.
JBT Marel is exhibiting at booth 3DD401 at the Seafood Expo Global, in Barcelona, on May 6th–8th, and we’d be happy to meet with anyone interested in this development.”Úlfar Arnórsson, Director Products, Marel Fish.
