JBT Marel reopens fully renovated Baud facility to strengthen service, talent and customer support in France

JBT Marel is pleased to announce the official reopening of its renovated Baud facility in Brittany, reinforcing its long-standing commitment to customer proximity, operational excellence and sustained growth in the French food-processing sector.

The reopening follows a 13-month redevelopment of the site located at ZA DU DRESSEVE – 56150 Baud, which now hosts 100 employees, making it the largest JBT Marel location in France (out of 135 employees nationally). The Baud site continues to serve as a central hub for Sales and Service activities across the Poultry, Meat, Fish and Prepared Foods divisions, supported by a fully equipped workshop for service operations.

Strategic location at the heart of France’s food industry

Situated in Brittany, one of Europe’s key regions for poultry, meat and fish processing, the Baud facility is within 100 km of numerous major production plants. JBT Marel has maintained a strong presence in France since 1991, through renowned brands such as Scanvaegt, AEW Delford, Stork PMT, Stork Titan, Townsend, TREIF and MAJA.

Originally acquired from Nijal in 2006, the Baud site became home to Marel teams in 2010. Since then, the headcount has grown from around 60 to 100 employees.

A workplace designed for comfort, collaboration and efficiency

The renovation project was rooted in three priorities:

  • Modernize the workspace to current standards
  • Improve everyday working conditions for employees
  • Enhance the site’s appearance to welcome customers and attract future talent

A portion of the old building was demolished and replaced with a new extension, adding over 600 m² of office space. The remaining areas were fully refurbished to meet current standards.

The upgraded facility now features:

  • Eight meeting rooms fitted with modern equipment
  • A spacious open-plan work area designed to maximize daylight and encourage communication
  • Air quality monitoring for employee health, comfort, and productivity
  • Improved insulation and heating, reducing overall energy consumption
  • A restaurant and patio area that supports employee well-being and collaboration

These enhancements create a more welcoming environment for both staff and visitors, while ensuring long-term usability of the site.
