Marel and Beypilic lift their partnership to new levels

Beypilic Bolu Kesimhane

Beypilic, an integrated poultry processor in Türkiye, and Marel are expanding their partnership. With over three decades of collaboration already behind them, Beypilic and Marel are well-prepared to embark on a new state-of-the-art greenfield project, which represents a significant step forward for the poultry industry in Türkiye. The poultry processing plant will feature two production lines, fully equipped with Marel solutions, each with a capacity of 15,000 bph [250 bpm].

The poultry market in Türkiye is growing. Chicken serves as the predominant source of protein in the country’s diet. Chicken meat production is expected to rise by 4.4% and consumption by 4.7%. The country has strengthened its position in the region’s poultry industry, nearly doubling its exports to 600 thousand tons in 2023. Türkiye is also an important producer and exporter of further processed products such as chicken strips, schnitzels and nuggets.

Expanding presence

Beypilic currently runs two production lines with Marel equipment, with each line processing 12,000 birds per hour [200 bpm]. The lines enable Beypilic to produce over 150 different chicken products, all produced to the highest food safety standards. The poultry market in Türkiye has been growing rapidly, driven both by rising domestic consumption and a steady increase in exports. This has given Beypilic the chance to expand its footprint and processing capabilities. These serve Türkiye’s domestic markets, both retail and food service, and expand its presence in the Middle East and neighboring countries.

15,000 bph equipment and software

Marel is to design and deliver a greenfield project, a brand-new, cutting-edge facility covering 60,000 square meters [14.8 acres]. The new facility will be constructed right next to the existing processing plant in Bolu, a town between Istanbul and Ankara. It will be equipped with two production lines, each capable of processing 15,000 [250 bpm] birds per hour. Besides the wall-to-wall installation of Marel systems and solutions, the new plant will also boast comprehensive Marel software, allowing Beypilic to optimize performance and enhance productivity at every stage of its process. Beypilic will also meet increasing consumer demand for prepared foods, by installing two further processing lines dedicated to prepared food products such as nuggets and schnitzels.

About Beypilic

Beypi Inc. started life as Beyyem Inc. Beyyem had been established in the Beypazarı district, east of Ankara, to produce mixed feed. The factory started manufacturing in October 1981. In 1987, Beypi started producing chicken meat products at its poultry processing plant in Bolu in August 1987. The company invested in breeding farms, hatcheries and growing farms to ensure full vertical integration. Investments begun in Beypazarı continued in later years in Bolu. A second hatchery, a mixed feed factory, and a processing plant were built here alongside numerous breeding and broiler farms. Beypi produced a broad product portfolio, ranging from chicken meat to further processed products. There were also investments in mixed feed production, such as full-fat soybean production. In 1995, the company’s headquarters were moved to Bolu. In 2004, Beyyem Inc. merged all its assets with Beypi Inc, which strengthened the business structure. As one of Türkiye’s leading companies in the poultry sector and growing continuously, Beypi takes pride in being a pioneer in various aspects of the industry.
