Marel’s new Nuova-i eviscerator is a major step towards an intelligent, digitalized primary process. The Nuova-i allows for automated flock adjustments. These can be controlled by a touchscreen, allowing a switch to the perfect flock settings in a matter of seconds. Thanks to the internal machine software, Nuova-i can measure its own performance, allowing real-time insight into each unit. The remote monitoring, evaluation and improvement of performance and status illustrate Nuova-i’s connectivity. Even remote support is possible.

IMPAQT not only identifies downtime, but can also help optimize the primary processes, while giving real-time insight to reach full potential.

Once deboned, breast meat needs to be graded and distributed. This is a challenging process because there are no more one-on-one product shackles. Marel succeeds in combining state-of-the-art technology and real-time process data. Weight and quality information from SensorX and IRIS Fillet Inspector is translated into optimal product streams, distributed by servo-operated SystemFlex Distributor conveyors. This concept brings every single breast fillet to its best destination. In this way, Marel achieves quality-driven in-line logistic distribution on a conveyor belt.

When cutting up a whole product, wing processing deserves special attention. To harvest as much meat as possible, the center piece (midwing, wingette, wing flat, second joint) is crucial. In Marel's ACM-NT cut-up system, the Second Joint Wing Cutter takes care of cutting consistently along anatomical lines, precisely at the right position of the joint, while harvesting the right amount of skin. Once the wing enters the cutting module, it is pushed into its optimal position and the module ‘feels’ automatically where the bone joint is located. The Second Joint Wing Cutter is not sensitive to variations in weight or shape.
