Friday November 19th, was Entrepreneurs Day in the Netherlands. Precisely on this day, Marel Brazil won the Dutch-Brazilian Entrepreneur Award 2021.
The jury of Dutcham, the Brazilian-Dutch Chambre of Commerce, stated, "Today, 19th November, we celebrate 'Entrepreneur Day' in the Netherlands. A day to put entrepreneurs in the spotlight, and the ones who have taken the step abroad deserve our special respect. Together with the Dutch Economic Diplomacy Network, we proudly announce Marel as the Entrepreneur of 2021 in Brazil. Congratulations!"

The jury continues, "Marel is a company that has brought innovation and technology from the Netherlands to the local market in Brazil. An organization that focuses on transforming the future of food processing and as such contributes actively to the growing demand for sustainable food. The Brazilian Marel team of professionals is making great efforts in training and developing people locally from the new DemoCenter in Campinas/SP, and getting their clients prepared for the future. Well done!"
Ruud Berkers, Regional Sales Director in Brazil, and originating himself from the Netherlands, held a webinar for the members of Dutcham, to underline Marel's efforts in one of the world's most important poultry countries. "With the recent opening of our new Demo Center here in Campinas, it's obvious that Marel is strongly investing in Brazil. By introducing our water-saving programs, vision grading technology and IMPAQT software, we put our vision of innovation and sustainability into practice. We feel strongly committed to supporting the Brazilian poultry sector in reaching a higher level of industrialization."
After winning the 'Entrepreneur of the Year' title, Ruud Berkers said, "This award is a great recognition of our way of transforming food processing in Brazil. It also recognizes 25 years of teamwork and all of our team efforts. This is much appreciated. I pass on the congratulations to all who have contributed!"
The award will be handed over officially in a later stage. How this ceremony will be organized is not known yet, due to the Covid-19 situation.
