The RoboOptimizer automates the challenging and labor-intensive task of providing the ideal infeed for portion cutting. By precisely aligning each fillet, it virtually eliminates the need for manual labor, saving the work of two operators on average .

The RoboOptimizer is also faster, more accurate, and more efficient than human operators, capable of positioning up to 110 strips or sandwich fillets per minute. It operates consistently without the fatigue or variability that affects human performance, ensuring reliable results from start to finish.

The QSR industry requires that end products be uniform, standardized, and repeatable. The RoboOptimizer plays a crucial role in meeting these needs by preventing fiber destruction during cutting, which can lead to damaged, irregular, and stretched-out strips. By mitigating these issues, it helps increase yield by around 2-4% for strips, maximizing the value of your raw materials and ensuring superior product quality.

Additionally, the RoboOptimizer improves efficiency by rejecting faulty and misplaced products, automatically skipping over loose trimmings and items too close together. These rejected pieces are directed to the end of the belt and fall into a bin to be used in other processes. This maintains quality standards and prevents clutter in the downstream process.

How it works: Advanced laser and robot technology maximize value

Utilizing an advanced laser vision system, the RoboOptimizer scans each product as it enters the system on the conveyor belt. Its patented technology measures each fillet’s length and width and distinguishes between left and right fillets. This is important to ensure the product is not cut across the grain of the meat, which would damage it.

Advanced software then instantly analyzes the unique shape of each fillet to determine its optimal orientation to cut the specified product, such as sandwich fillets or specific strip lengths. For instance, a larger fillet might need to be angled differently from a smaller one to prevent strips from becoming overly long.

Once the optimal orientation is determined, the robot arm picks up each fillet and places it on the correct conveyor lane as it enters the I-Cut 122 portion cutter. This strategic placement enhances the I-Cut 122's already high performance, enabling it to maximize value by increasing yield and product quality.
