The 4,700 m² facility at Flex Viracopos can accommodate around 130 employees and up to 200 guests. The new location will improve the company's connectivity with Latin American customers, as well as strengthen its global access.
“In addition to its strategic location, close to one of the main airports in Brazil, Progress Point will have a modern infrastructure for our employees and will allow the expansion of Marel's operations in the region, strengthening our capacity to support customers from all over Latin America”, says Clausius Nóbrega, Regional Director of Marel in Latin America.
Marel opens demo center in Brazil
Marel has opened its first Progress Point Demo Center in Latin America. This is the company’s fifth demonstration center globally, with demonstration centers already operating in Europe and North America.
In partnership with our customers
Marel demo centers bring food processors together with Marel experts to experience the full potential of the company’s equipment, integrated systems and software in a hands-on environment, with demonstrations, training seminars, ShowHows and other live and online events.
Demonstrations will focus primarily on standalone equipment and simple solutions that can serve the fish, meat and poultry processing industries. Marel has a long history of applying technologies from one industry to another, which helps speed up the innovation process and increase customers’ competitive edge.
Opening a demonstration center in the region strengthens Marel’s ability to support its Latin American customers, large and small, with advanced, automated systems and solutions for every step of the production process. The significance of the Latin American food processing industry is only growing, and Marel is proud to be a part of that journey.
Extended reality capabilities
The new Progress Point features state-of-the-art equipment that simulates real factory conditions, allowing customers to test and develop new products. It also enables extended reality (XR) demonstrations, combining live and virtual product presentations.
This is Marel's first demo center to feature a virtual reality room, with 3D graphics capabilities. In this innovative space, visitors can use electronic devices, special goggles and sensors, for training, testing, and analyzing efficiency and production line flow.
“With travel restrictions and social distancing measures due to the pandemic, visits to factories and fairs have become a rarity, and our new demonstration center facilities become even more vital for demonstrations and training on equipment and software in a controlled factory environment,” says Nóbrega.
The virtual training and demonstration center is always ready to connect. “We offer a highly interactive online configuration, so that the customer can, from the comfort of his or her home or office, explore our innovative systems, solutions and software,” Nóbrega adds.
Strategic location
Although, it has operated in Brazil since 2002, until now, Marel’s presence in Latin America has been based in Piracicaba. Quality, flexibility and sustainability were fundamental factors in the selection of the new location. Marel needed a place that would offer the right facilities that best suit its employees and supply chain. Bresco Park also meets the company’s business and environmental needs as it has open planning, including public squares surrounded by trees. The surrounding green area includes walking trails and bike paths that extend to the commercial areas of the site, as well as charging stations for electric cars.
