Information
Marel PMJ's in-line Contramatic Plucker is an in-line solution that makes use of the counter-rotating plucking principle. Alternating drums in each plucking bank are rotating in opposite directions, thereby causing the attached flexible plucking fingers to put more centrifugal forces on the feathers. The opposite wiping movements of the ribbed surfaces of the fingers are more effective in removing feathers from the carcass than unidirectional drum rotations. This technique ensures optimum plucking results with higher efficiency, allowing to reduce the number of machines, resulting in lower energy costs.
The first in line
With minimal adjustments, it is easy to fine-tune the system to defeather a wide range of products. This is also due to the hydraulic adjustment system. The machine is easy to maintain and clean. It features one defeathering block at the breast side and another one at the backside.
The Contramatic Plucker succeeds in removing the vast majority of the feather pack, leaving little work to be done in the post-processing phase. In a larger plucking line, the Contramatic plucker should be the first attack plucker, followed by one or more regular in-line puckers.
