Information

Good evisceration is essential for safeguarding the end product quality. Marel PMJ’s polyvalent evisceration solutions are not just for Pekin Duck but can be set to handle a wide range of sizes and weights of ducks, geese and other waterfowl. Their performance is outstanding, with the highest percentage of complete packs removed. For all processing capacities up to 7,000 ducks per hour, a Marel PMJ eviscerator is available. It is easily adjustable to process a wide range of product sizes and weights

Precise and careful

Evisceration means separating the giblets from the carcass by removing the entire viscera pack (heart, liver, gizzard and intestines) in one piece from the body cavity. This fully automated operation is executed by a drawing arm that enters the product through the abdominal cavity opening. When the arm is completely inside, it slightly moves and moves upwards again, while extracting the entire intestine pack out of the carcass. This careful, precise functioning causes absolutely no damage to the giblets such as liver, gizzard or heart.

There is no hazardous skin contact, as pack and carcass are processed separately. The giblet pack is directly transferred from the spoon to a separate pack conveyor belt or bin conveyor to minimize the risk of contamination. This conveyor is synchronized with the product conveyor to make the simultaneous inspection of carcass and viscera pack by a veterinarian easy and effective.

Easily integratable

Placed in-line after the vent opening machine, the eviscerator runs fully automatically. The carousel machine can be adapted to the most common shackle types and pitches. Therefore, it can be integrated into almost any existing duck processing line with any degree of automation, from manual to a virtually labor-free process.

For each type of duck or goose, the eviscerator uses dedicated spoons which are easily interchangeable. This is a practical solution for processors who handle ducks for most of the year but also have to deal with seasonal geese.

Marel PMJ's eviscerator operates extremely hygienically, eliminating virtually any chance of contamination. Cleanability comes back in all aspects of the machine design, enforcing world-class hygiene standards.
