The FATscan’s in-line precise analysis of fat content is an excellent tool for smaller and midsize producers of sausages, burger patties or ground meat to improve quality, achieve consistency, reduce costs and save time. It analyzes and calculates the fat percentage of all incoming material, trimmings or ground meat, controlling the process in real-time and reducing lean giveaway to a minimum.
Quality and consistency
The FatScan accurately measures and displays the chemical lean (CL) content, the valuable component of meat. It applies a unique spectroscopy technology which emits visible and near infrared (Vis/NIR) light to penetrate deep into the meat. Then sensors capture the returned transflected light with information about the absorption behavior, to make a fat/lean analysis. In this way, the FATscan analyzer ensures superior quality and the highest levels of consistency of the final product, either fresh or frozen.

The FATscan is specifically designed to help processors deliver a uniform product of high quality. Until now, in-line fat analysis was inaccessible to smaller and midsize processors. Useful data
The FATscan features an intuitive user interface that enables processors to generate, manage and export real-time reports or daily summaries with great ease. The data recorded by the FATscan has a time stamp and is assigned to batch as well as supplier information. The software can be linked to the database for full traceability of all data.

Thanks to its reduced height and adjustable belt angle, it can find its place after any grinder or mincer. Its compact, open and light design allows for easy integration into an existing production line.
