The RoboOptimizer automatically organizes breast fillets on the conveyor belt, ensuring precise and traceable positioning, exclusively for the I-Cut 122 portion cutter. The RoboOptimizer can position up to 110 strips or sandwich fillets per minute. It takes away all loading problems and offers downstream control, to route products all the way to their destinations.
Labor-saving
The RoboOptimizer aims to eliminate the challenging and labor-intensive task of providing the ideal infeed for the I-Cut 122 portion cutter. By precisely aligning each individual fillet to its optimal position, it virtually does away with the need for manual labor, typically saving the effort of two operators on average. The portioning robot does not suffer from fatigue or assessment issues, as humans do, and ensures consistent performance from start to finish.
Skip to prevent clutter
When picking up fillets to position them precisely on another conveyor belt, the RoboOptimizer automatically skips loose trimmings, faulty products and products that are too close to each other. Such products reach the end of the belt to fall into a bin without being picked up by the robot arm, because they would only clutter the downstream process. This Marel selection technique is patented.
Left and right yield
The advanced laser vision system scans the entire 800 mm wide conveyor belt, detecting multiple products simultaneously. It measures the length and the width of each fillet and also identifies left and right fillets, which is a patented solution. This is important, because if the portion cutter starts cutting strips at the wrong end, the fibers are destroyed and the strip will be stretched out in the tumbling process.
Before, it was necessary to cut a fixed trim of a certain size to ensure that the first strip met the requirements. By using the RoboOptimizer, this trim can be reduced to a minimum and still ensure the correct strip length.
With all its remarkable features, the RoboOptimizer significantly enhances the performance of the I-Cut 122. It optimizes raw material utilization, minimizes giveaway, and ensures laborless consistent production of QSR end products, resulting in an overall yield increase of 2-4% with strips.
