Nigeria Poultry Show

The road to automated processing

The 2017 Nigeria Poultry Show, organized by the Poultry Association of Nigeria (PAN),  will take place at the Providence Mall in Abeokuta, Nigeria, 7 to 9 November. Marel Poultry will focus on the steps to be taken on the road to poultry processing automation.

Industrial processing will usually become viable once a sufficient customer base has been built up to justify the processing of some 500 broilers per hour.

Starting with a Stork overhead conveyor, a scalder and a plucker, the first step into industrialization will have been made. Next, when production increases to 1,000 or 2,000 bph, automated evisceration, using the Stork Nuova CoreTech, will be the best option.

Marel Poultry can offer invaluable advice to newcomers to industrial processing. We can help with the design and finish of the building and its various departments, with suitable equipment and its layout and with the provision of the services which will be necessary to operate the plant.
