Aqua Nor is the world’s largest aquaculture technology exhibition, and its opening day in Trondheim this week saw an especially high number of visitors pour in to see the latest innovations. New this year on Marel’s stand are a number of touchscreen presentations and videos, as well as VR goggles that invite visitors to step inside an Icelandic processing plant for a unique experience of a real production line in action.
Marel is focusing on quality salmon processing at Aqua Nor this year. In particular, Marel has developed a new Salmon Deheader that measures each fish and adjusts the precision cutting tools accordingly, also cutting off the tail so that the salmon exits the machine ready for filleting.
Of the products featured at the stand, the Filleting Machine with back and belly trimming and the Salmon Skinner are also attracting a lot of attention, as well as the Innova Food Processing Software dashboards set up to simulate real production scenarios.
Various Innova dashboards display all the necessary input to give a complete overview of production, and visitors have been impressed to see how easily and efficiently they can monitor the data. In a real production setting, this enables processors to control and improve processing results.
Marel welcomes visitors to Aqua Nor to take a closer look at fully automated processing, until the exhibition closes 18 August.
