Marel opens the Nasdaq market in New York tomorrow Thursday

To mark twenty years as a listed company on Nasdaq OMX Iceland, there will be a live broadcast from New York as Theo Hoen, CEO, and Árni Oddur Thórdarson, Chairman of the Board of Marel ring the Nasdaq opening bell at MarketSite on Times Square 18 October. There will be live broadcast from 1:15 pm GMT.

Marel takes part in this Nasdaq tradition to celebrate 20 years since Marel listed its shares on the Icelandic stock market. Marel has grown immensely since then and is now the largest company listed on Nasdaq OMX Iceland by market value.

Marel’s shareholders number around 2,200 today, almost tenfold the number since the company was listed, when there were 242 shareholders at year-end 1992.

There will be a Nasdaq video presentation at 1:15 pm, then a ten-second countdown before Mr. Hoen and Mr. Thordarson “ring the opening bell” at precisely 1:30 pm GMT (9:30 am in New York).
