The need for safe, traceable, quality food produced sustainably is more urgent than it has ever been. In partnership with our valued customers and long-time partners, we play an essential role in meeting this urgent need.
Since the beginning of the Covid-19 outbreak, we have mobilized our crisis response teams that are coordinating our plans to protect our people and maintain business continuity all across the world. All our local teams have plans to minimize the risk of spreading the infection, and we have put measures in place to minimize the impact on our warehouse- and manufacturing teams. These actions will enable us to maintain our operations and ensure that we continue serving our customers and other stakeholders who depend on us.
In close cooperation with our suppliers, we work to understand and identify possible gaps in the supply chain and together plan to ensure we can operate efficiently and effectively so critical parts are able to reach areas where they are needed. Marel is financially strong and we are systematically building up safety stock of spare- and make parts for our solutions across our locations to serve strong demand and maintain accurate delivery. Our supply network is established to serve customers in all markets, and our ability to respond locally is strengthening.
As we remain committed to serving all our customers around the world, we have introduced new routines globally to track the health of our field service engineers on a daily basis. We have made action plans to monitor projects, installations and service activities against the constant changes in mobility due to travel restrictions. We continue to support our customers both on site and remotely and we have made provision to scale up our global help desk as increased remote technical support becomes necessary.
Marel, together with its customers play an important role in providing a balanced diet to people that are now shifting from restaurants to dining more at home. We know that our customers are working hard to fulfil this need and we ensure that we are here for them and we will navigate through this together. We will continue our work, in partnership with our customers, on transforming the way food is processed.
Our deepest sympathies go to those who are directly affected by the outbreak. We send our best wishes for your health and safety as we work through this unprecedented challenge together.
Please don´t hesitate to reach out to us for any help or assistance. We are here for you.
Sincerely,
Arni Oddur Thordarson,
CEO
